And you think you had a bad round!!!!!

THIS POST COMES WITH A HEALTH WARNING. PUT DOWN YOUR HOT DRINKS, DO NOT OPERATE HEAVY MACHINERY AND THERE IS ALSO A RISK OF A LITTLE BIT OF WEE COMING OUT!

I played in the medal today and to be honest it felt good, the swing was on the money, the putter was working and for the most of it it was not bad. Well this is what I had on my card:

2 x birdie
10 x pars
3 x bogies
1 x double bogey
1 x triple bogey
So not a bad round really, 6 over. Well that is until I add the best bit in.

So stood on the 8th tee, 540 yard par 5 into a slight breeze. Not too bad 3 nice shots set up a birdie putt, easy par, or so I thought.

Well after my first 2 drives going OB my 5th shot from the tee then missed the fairway by 50 yards to the right and ended up in a pond. So I take a drop and I am still stood 260 yards away. So my 7th shot is a 3 wood at the green, which I miss left in the trees. I then hack it back out backwards for 8, the pin is cut at the front above a very steep 20 foot long slope. I hit my lob wedge a foot short of what I was trying and it spins back down the hill for 9. I try and hit my putter and it does not get up the hill and ends up rolling back 5 yards behind me for 10. I try again with the same result for 11. So eventually for 12 I get on the green and then 2 putt for a wonderful big old 14.

Yes you read it here I had 14 on a par 5.

I know that it can be frustrating getting a big number on one hole during a good round. However, it is much preferable to getting bogey on nearly every hole which is what sometimes happens when you have a bad round.

Or even worse do what one of mates did while I was having a beer on the patio, 3-putt to end up level par gross from about 15 foot. He was still 1 under handicap so not too bad, but he looked so frustrated.......

Double bogie on every hole is a bad round for me , bogie on every hole I'd be ecstatic , still I've less than a year under me belt

I thought I'd had a shocker today, the round felt crap and 4 blobs but was surprised to find I still scored 34 off 18  should off been a lot more aswell as I picked up on a few holes one a par 5 after my 3rd shot out of a green side bunker flew the green by 10 yards or so. It was a stupidly slow round though and I was nearly snapping my clubs waiting on every tee. PGA only on weekends from now as there are less divs who are more worried about there bottle of Stella than there next shot.
