I had an albatross aged 15 on the par 5 7th hole at Hallowes GC in Derbyshire. 4 wood into the hole. The funny thing was we had to wait for the green to clear as the greenskeeper was just finishing off putting in the new hole.
I have been very close to a second albatross on two occasions at the same hole, the 3rd at Devils Dyke GC. I can cut the corner at this hole and drive the green with regularity. I recall once when the ball finished about 5 inches away, behind the hole and a second instance when friends in the group in from said they heard the ball hit the flag as they left the green but this must have been at pace as it was a good 15 feet from the hole when I got there.
I also have two friends that played in a society day at Royal Eastbourne about 15 years ago. One of them got an albatross that day which is remarkable enough but the really amazing thing is that on that same day with about 30 society players in the field, 2 of the other guys (including my other friend) got holes in one at two of the par 3's! The odds of this must be ridiculously high but this is a true story.

managed to drive a 285 yard par 4 a couple of summers ago and i ended up about 5 feet away. Never been close on a par 5 though.
