I am seriously considering changing my irons,I currently have Wilson WT200 deep reds which are around a year old. They were originally bought from AG for £199.

I may well take a wee trip to my local store on Sunday morning to see what they will offer me for them against a new set of irons.

Has anyone used AG for a trade in before or should I look elsewhere?

Suggestions will be welcomed.

You'll get more if you sell rather than trade-in
Trade-in value will be about 50 quid - even though they're a year old they're still 2nd hand and AG won't be able to shift them on for more than a 100.....
Try on here or use eBay/Gumtree.....

you always have to look at the full net situation on a trade in purchase (and that includes the true in your pocket and pricing your time when using ebay etc)

and price relative to what you paid has absolutely no relevance whatsoever!

Cheers guys, looks like I may have to change my plans based on your experiences. The idea was to avoid laying out cash then having a set of irons knocking about waiting for a sale.

However,a good used set might be another option worth considering.

Couldnt agree more! I had some wilson staff irons and a Tit 910D2 driver "used" from american golf they looked absolutely spanking, with £100 less on the price tag

Just had tip off about some gear for sale locally which might be worth a look.
Callaway x20 irons 3 - PW just been re gripped, a Callaway driver and big bertha 3 and 5 wood complete with matching stand bag.

Do not really need anything apart from the irons, but at £150 might be worth a look.

There's a 5-sw set on eBay buy it now £100 so I think you'll be lucky to get £50 trade in.
Unfortunately trade in price bears no relation to cost paid.

Update.
I went and looked the clubs mentioned a few posts ago,and quickly left without them.I have given better conditioned clubs away.

Found myself in my local AG store sometime later.
Before I had even selected a potential purchase, they offered my £70 for my deep reds against any set of irons in store.

I am now the proud owner of a set of Burner 2.0 from 4 - SW

When I bought some irons off them last year they said they'd give me £50 on ANY set of irons that I trade in as long as there were 7 irons in total, so I bought the cheapest set off eBay for about £6.50 I think and took them in! So they knocked £50 off the sale and I went and sold my other irons on eBay so I did alright out of them realy
