Does anyone have one of these and what are their thoughts ?
In particular, one that's been chipped, so you can get Sky (am I right in thinking that).
Has there been any issues regarding pictures going off/links going done if that's applied.
The reason I ask is that I had an android box which was fine, but the middle of last year all the links went off so I couldn't get any streams. Is that still the issue with android boxes or have the streams come back?
Is a fire stick the best thing to get ?

Do you mean the device has been turned to allow you to steam sky illegally via Kodi ?

Lots of the apps used are currently being blocked which is why your android box went off

I have a Firestick and it’s siperb for amazon prime and video as well as Netflix

Sky is superb through Sky Q

I wouldn't advise to buy chipped. It's so easy to do yourself and multiple easy guides online as to how to. Few problems with the firestick - namely processing power and storage. A loaded kodi would use close to 2GB and the storage on the firesticks are only 8GB (less than 6 available). Some people like myself likes to run more than one build of Kodi and you can start to see the problem.

2nd and 3rd version will run Kodi loads without much processing problems. Don't even think about it with the 1st version. Internet speed is critical to so hopefully you have some type of fibre.

If you put in a solid build (plenty of guides around) such as Titanium onto a 2nd/3rd generation firestick with at least broadband running around 25MBps you won't have buffering problems.

Free Links/addons go down regularly and you really need to learn how to install new add on's and how to delete non working ones (for space). This is a good reason to learn how to load Kodi with builds yourself and ongoing maintenance is essential if you want the best out of it. TV and movies are a breeze, but again few come in full HD. Premier sports are a lot more difficult to get consistent feeds. The authorities behind these have been working hard to bring them down and are having considerable success.

It is never as simple as download Kodi, put a build in and sit back and watch Sky?BT sports - just is not that easy. Prepared to learn a bit and try various add ons etc then it will work for you.

Lastly this is an illegal act and as such not just original providers, but governments are cracking down on this. They have got most large ISP companies on board to monitor traffic for use of such services. Multiple forums out there clearly indicating that ISP's are throttling speeds for those openly using such streaming services. Best way to avoid this and to ensure a smooth running product is to install a paid for (£30-60 a year) VPN service that will mask your IP address and stop your ISP seeing what you are viewing. VPN also have the benefit of allowing you to view certain channels that would be blocked to you for geographical restricted reasons. With a VPN you can watch US channels (usually blocked if you live outside US) from anywhere and the likes of Iplayer if outside of the UK

Fire stick and an IPTV sub is the way to go, miles more reliable and user friendly than Kodi. Don’t buy a chipped box off eBay, just get a fire stick off Amazon or Curry’s and buy your sub elsewhere. Send me a PM if you want more advice.

what's an IPTV sub?

Internet Protocol Television I think...
There are quite a few of these around and they are miles better and more reliable than any of the freebie connectors.
They can cost from £7 a month and you get everything, even payg services.
I wouldn't advise anyone to pay more than 3 months in advance though as they can and do go awol.
You also need to be a bit techy though as sometimes they change their feeds and that means you have to get your hands dirty and start changing the links etc.
But it's not really that difficult.

£7 a month is a bit steep, £50 a year is the going rate from what i've seen. You don't need to be particularly "techie", any steps you need to take are very straightforward and a decent supplier will give you full instructions.

I've not come across any as cheap as that, not with good reviews anyway. Maybe I should start delving a bit more :)
The one I'm using has been Flawless with no real issues to speak of. Very happy so far ;)

Resurrecting this thread.
Is it possible to record, pause using fire stick? I've noticed that now there is fire tv cube.
Is this the same as fire stick?
I've just cancelled virgin and wanting to go down this route.

Do you mean when using those paid iptv apps?
I've just got Titanium tv as it was on offer, there is a rewind and record button on the menu but I haven't tried it, I guess a lot also depends on how much memory the fire stick has spare.

I'm thinking of biting the bullet and paying the £50/year where you can watch all channels. Is that the same as IPTV?
Sorry but I'm very new to this stuff.

what subscription is that ?
The fire cube has a better processor but it really boils down to what your internet speed is.The fire stick runs off wi-fi so if your speed is poor you'll be limited to what you can stream.
Have you downloaded and run Analiti, this will help.

Yes that's the same. There are various ones allegedly, I paid £38 last week and it looks to work ok. Not many movies and tv series on there but I use Cinema APk for that anyway ?

One of those where you pay someone and get instructions by email in how to set it up;)
I have got Virgins 350 MB/S broadband so speed shouldn't be a problem.
