I had a day at one of the de vere courses today where I had my first eagle. I hadnt been playing that well of the tee (pulling it etc) when I put a touch of chapstick onto the face and ever since no other slice or hook and very long and straight happened off the tee regularly. Is this downright cheating or do I buy myself a life time supply of the stuff (I've never hit it soooo far!)

No substance can be applied to the club face to influence the flight of the ball so this is a big no no.
Made me laugh though.

Unfortunately a no-no....rule 4-2b

Foreign Material
Foreign material must not be applied to the club face for the
purpose of influencing the movement of the ball.

Aww crap, Im going to have to take off my lush No.7 firey rouge then???? made the ball go miles and looked like my driver had kissed the ball each hit. :D

dunno someone I know suggested it. There was only remnants of it by the start of the round. I'm a little disbelieving of how it could affect it so much!! I'm normally fairly long but these were goin over 300. lol

In theory it could cause less side spin by allowing less friction between club and ball but this should also limit backspin so you'd be driving lower as well...
