Played a few holes tonight.
My putting has been dreadful this season and responsible for many of my high shooting rounds.
As a means of attempting to address this I practiced a bit of putting whilst on the greens.
This time I lined up the putt, placed the putter behind the ball and set up. What I did differently was to widen my stance by an inch or two and grip the putter shaft with my arms hanging straight down and relaxed. I also made sure my backswing matched my follow through and attempted to keep a smooth tempo by thinking "easy back then follow through" on the backswing and follow through.
My putting seemed to be much improved. Does my new routine and set up seem the right way to go on?
