Alternative Putting Poll

Just an idea to get a different perspective on putting, based on some numbers that we can all relate to each other.

Still not massively scientific but hey ho!

If you know them, subtract your average GIR per round, from your average number of putts per round.

So far this year I'm averaging just under 31 putts per round, and just under 9 GIR, so my number is 22.

I'm averaging about 33 putts per round but probably hitting 6/7 greens in regulation so will say a good average for me is 27

Must be Smiffy then. All those hole outs from off the green doesn't leave a lot of putting to do :thup:

No idea how many putts I take in a round - I never count them. Or GIR - don't record that either.

From my most recent round (a 4BBB match) I'm recalling 7 GIR and 30 putts. So 23.

My GIR is usually pretty low so I'm saying 26.

my GIR is pretty good at 8/9 but my putts per round is poor 35/36, so I picked 27.

Don't keep stats so counted up my last round .....32 putts - 7 GIR......so 25 (whatever that tells me!!)

I counted up putts round the par 3, 28 putts for 18, a few two putts, mostly ones after chips. Small upturned saucer greens are hard to find!

Average 12 GIR per round but am taking c. 32 putts. so put 21 down.
