Anyone have one or experience of one?

Reviews seem to say its pretty good option over the standard TM/Mizuno/Callaway/Ping etc etc

maybe similar to the one the Craw just got fitted for which was a KZG head afaik, maybe a lot to be said for these custom type heads

I would love to believe there were groups of people out there who are making golf equipment as good or better than the branded guys...

thats like saying Ford cars are better than specialist small car maker Aston Martin:rolleyes:

However I know what you are saying, these Alphas have been used by Long Drive competition guys for years.
When the V5 came out it got Driver of the year at the pga Florida show and Golf Digest lumped them in with the "best Drivers you've never heard of" :mmm:

I'd never heard of them either till a few days ago, never heard of the KZG that Craws getting either but reviews seem pretty good

I dont think its like comparing Ford and Aston Martin but I understand the point your making, Ford and KIA maybe.

You have sparked my interest. I know those long drive guys use a different type of driver to us, are the rules for long drive the same as those used on tour? if not this may be like comparing race car and a road car. Because Redbull can make a race car does not mean they can make a road car.

Its barnd snobbery and ignorance like that^^^^^^^^which makes me laugh. Looking at your bag I'm fairly confident that Alpha use a better grade of titanium that the Titleist in your bag. Brands like Nakashima make better wedges than Mizuno, and Dave Whitlam make a better putter than your Scotty.

I'm sure your delighted with your current line up and its all very good kit but you need to open your eyes and broaden your knowledge before making sweeping statements.

I've sourced a supplier who is going to let me try the TM R11 and the Alpha with various shafts and a flightscope, should be interesting to compare. He has the Tour edition of the R11 so that should be even more interesting

You impolite man, read what I wrote again, it does not say there are not, its says I would love to believe there was. I am not aware of it and would love to think its the case. I was actually backing you or in this case Darth.

Mind your mouth when you are talking to me, and read posts before you spout crap like that!!!

I had an Alpha V5 and it was quality, just the loft was to low for me.The quality is easily equal or better than the big OEM'S.I took delivery of my Geek driver yesterday and I can honestly tell you it's better than any driver which I have tried out recently. There are certain companies which do their sales predominantly for long drive and alpha/geek/crank are some of these, but they do standard spec stuff as well and it's great quality.
Still it needs to be paired with the correct shaft and only a good fitter will accomplish this.

Thanks shewy, can I ask what attracted you to the non big names? ie you've gone with a Geek driver now and I've also never heard of them either

I've been thinking about a Geek driver for a while, especially now they have come up with a White Head

they have got a good rep on the long drive circuit from what I know. The only issue is that I don't know of anywhere to try before you buy.

I'm strangely drawn to minor golf brands, I've got a snake eyes putter in play at the moment and I quite fancy some naskashima irons

There's a guy in Elgin who does all sorts of Jap manufacturers, a few of the low, low handicappers have his stuff.

Happily use anything really, just like Mizuno;)

Thinking of buying a chateau in France Nick, and becoming mates with Retief Goosen ??:mmm:

I was basically just fed up of stock drivers and there so called big name shafts, when every one knows it's just a made for.I heard about Geek Drivers from a friend and thought I'd give them a whirl,it put me right onto non OEM components. But I would insist you go to the right fitter and get the proper shaft for your swing.

That is the best looking white driver I have seen, I would love a little go on one. What is that shaft?

Have you kissed and made up with thecraw yet after your little tantrum ??;)

He misunderstood my post, he was a little rude, I am not one to be talked to like a child. I made my point, end of... I think because he bought a Fisher Price driver he feels he needs to stick up for them :D.

And as a result I've edited your post to remove the questionable term you directed at him..

Watch your mouth mate, Brendy's got a new Ban Hammer! :D
