My Auris is an early Hybrid never had an issue, the Hybrid system (optional at the time) easily paid for itself as Petrol prices went mad.

TBF if it weren’t for COVID and I was still commuting it would have probably have been changed. Will probably go full EV this time but for every year I can defer it the technology gets better and hopefully the charging infrastructure.

Ours was the same (full hybrid) we only got rid because when kids came along with new car seat sizes you had to drive with the passenger seat all way forward which was a pain

To be fair most of our cars recently have been changed because of kids .. otherwise I'd of never got a 7 seater lol

The lady at LV insurance told me it was a record - not sure if that's a badge of honour or shame... I'm thinking the latter.

One of the kids I taught took their test in their own car..
After passing quite easily he phoned the insurance company and sorted the insurance to drive home and off we went.
As he drove down the road from the test centre to the main Rd we had to wait to get out...and someone went straight into the back,of us..
Less than 5 minutes after passing......
His Mum said it could only happen to him....

Many years ago I had a 2.7ltr twin turbo S4 Avant with the reg number S4 WOW.

My first car was a 1965 Austin A40 MkII which cost me £5 when I was 16. I spent a year rebuilding it, both body and engine, so it was ready when I passed my test.
Second car was a 1974 Humber Sceptre, then came my 1988, 2.2L 5 cylinder VW Passat estate followed by a 1998 Audi A4 Quattro TDI.
Next was my only new car, a 2003 BMW E46 330d M Sport, which was probably the best driving car I have owned and the last car before all the electronic driving aids and gizmos took over spoiling the driving experience.
Currently, I have a 2019 BMW G31 520d M Sport Touring which is ideal for golf and long distance cruising returning around 46 MPG.
In the early 2000s I built a Hawk AC 289 Cobra replica with a 5 Litre V8 engine in which I have covered over 45,000 miles driving to LeMans and Silverstone on many occasions to Classic Race meetings.

I do not have, and never have had, a desire to own a car with tremendous acceleration and top speed.

Is there something wrong with me?

I've always wondered whether it is due to having been a very fast runner/sprinter and whether this has, in my case, satisfied the (largely male) desire of "need for speed".
I've not become an FB so I'm probably still quite fast for someone my age.
I did have the experience of driving a car at 110mph (not my car) one time. It did nothing for me. My feeling was, "Well, the car can go fast - so what?"

Not anymore (well at the end of production) and they hold their value pretty well.
