• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

All it takes is 14 minutes of your time (DRIVER)

I can only assume that this whole thread is a wind up.

James must have googled "most pointless, inane, waste of time, utter nonsense online golf video" to find this.

I don't know what the guy is on about but can say with some certainty that following his ramblings won't improve the way you hit a driver.

The only thing to take from this is that if you go to Vegas, don't look this bloke up. Go and play at Shadow Creek, have a nice lunch, hit the casinos then end up at the Blue Sapphire Lounge. Then find yourself in a jacuzzi at Caesars Palace at 7am the following morning with a beautiful stripper called Catherine (stage name - Kitten!) for company.

Is there an instructional video for THIS?

Wasn't this an episode of CSI?

Let's say it does for one person... and you've now stopped that happening because of your childish attitude where you have to slag down all things and get your stupid tuppence comment in on every thread that frankly you shouldn't have any interest in at all, so you KEEP saying.

Put me on ignore or something, that way you won't need to step into every single one of my threads with your 'points winning' replies.

Does this mean you actually succeeded then ?? :D

Sorry mate couldnt help that . im a pick it ,grip it, 85% rip it guy me ..

Do I succeed? I know that if I set up square and hit up on the ball it's going to fade/slice and miss my target to the right EVERY SINGLE TIME so I aim a little left to allow the ball to land more 'on' the target with my driver.

The bad shots are down to not executing the shot properly, most often because I should take the cigarette out of my mouth before I swing, or just because I'm crap..... but the theory is sound!

Was just being funny JO (obviously failed miserably ), i was asking if someone sets out to fail and they do fail , does that mean they actually succeeded in (ie in what they were trying to do )

Ya know a joke is a bad one when you have to explain it ha ha .. apologies

Ah, OK, I missed that, but no worries

But in answer to your 'bad joke' consider this:

If you set up to fail and you DON'T.... then you actually HAVE :p

my threads

Says it all really.

The video you posted, in my opinion, is at best, confusing and of little value. I would think that most golfers outside this peculiar online bubble would agree with me. Furthermore, my opinion being different to yours doesn't stop anyone from watching that video and making their own mind up so your point about me wrecking the thread is disingenuous.

And I'm sure you'd be pleased to hear you were on my ignore list as it's one more person gone who has a tendency to disagree with your view. Unfortunately for you, I think it's healthy for this forum has differing views on how the game should be approached, taught and played, so I won't be blocking you and will be continuing to offer a counter argument whenever you post things like this video.

It doesn't stop you preaching to the converted and sycophantic but it does help in a tiny way to illustrate that there's more than one way to think about the game.

Another snide remark to win some points. They are obviously not mine as in 'ownership' but as in 'you are my little stalker and have to get your tuppence in on MY threads specifically'.

Does it have to be every time?

Pathetic. Even for you James. If that is genuinely your view then you have a few issues.

One of the best examples of why learning is about how it's taught, not what is taught!

The hula-hoop and pencil props work so much better!

Same applies, imo, to JO's favourite EE vid!

Nothing wrong with Snelly's approach (either of them) though.

If you set up to fail and you DON'T.... then you actually HAVE :p

This approach seemed to get quite a few top Pros drawing and fading around obstacles before the 'New' ball flight laws were 'discovered'!

Bit bored today Snelly?? You could start a thread telling us how use to do something to a very high standard,we haven't heard that for about 2hrs.
Or you could just carry on questioning why people start threads
