Saw the man last night at the Gateshead Sage. Fantastic performance at a superb venue.
Listening to him was like listening to a recording or record, it was that clear. He hasn't lost any of his voice, he sounds the same now at 62 compared to when he was topping the charts in the 80's.
Classics like Critize, Fake, Lovers etc. Great performer, got the crowd going with great interaction

Not the sort of music I listened to unless I was boogeying away in the local discotheque. He has always had a reputation as a good live performer and impressive at 62 he can still sing so well

It's actually O'Neal .... he was superb back in the day and "Criticize" is one of my favourite songs of all time. Saw him many times in the late 1980s but a mid 1990s gig when he was doing a ton of coke ruined him live. If he is back on form then I might have to wander back along to see him sing as he did have a tremendous voice and some of his other stuff was really excellent.

I have a vague recollection of that too. Mind you "tasty" birds on most videos of the time
