Alcohol free lager

Took Missis T out for her birthday tonight. Had a lovely meal. Anyway I was driving and had me heart set on a pint of lime and soda. The waiter suggested a pint of alcohol free Heineken. Quite frankly it was more than acceptable. Not had a alcohol free beer for years coz the last one I had was proper Rammel. So any other decent alky free beers out there.

The Peroni Libera, I think it's called, is pretty good for the lagers. But as a bitter drinker, the Adnams Ghost Ship 0.5% is fab. Tastes scarily similar to regular ghost ship. Also quite enjoy both Brew Dog alcohol free beers - Punk AF and Nanny State. They're probably preferable to their alcoholic beers!

Ghost Ship is decent. Nanny State is decent. Haven’t tried Punk AF yet.

Peroni Libera is dreadful imo. Must try the Ghost Ship, didn't know they did it. Bavaria Wheat beer is pretty good if chilled.

Aside from a couple of drinks during the festive period I managed five months of alcohol abstinence... During that time I rediscovered cordials... Some good ones now on the shelves... Made up with some good quality sparkling water I much preferred drinking them over 'fake' beer...

Of the alcohol free beers I did try I thought the St Peter's Without as about the I preferred most... But, not really a lager style...

I really like the Low Alocohol Ghost Ship too. The choices these days are so much better than the awful stuff of years ago.

Also in Tesco are Big Drop pale ale and Big Drop stout. Both very good examples of flavoursome beers at the 0.5% level.

Peroni Libera, Ghost Ship are awful.

The Budweiser one is OK.

Free Damm (readily available in Morrisons) is actually quite good. I took it along to a brewing club meeting a few weeks ago and presented it blind for general comment....whilst most folks picked up that it wasn't particularly strong no-one guessed that is was a zero percent beer.

Erdinger Alcohol free also isn't bad and Nanny State is quite drinkable as well.
