Hi folks, just some feedback about my trip today.
Firstly, huge thanks to Paul and Tom, and also AG and Golf Mothly for the opportunity.
Arrived an hour early, so went to Starbucks... great start to the day
Got back to Ag and after meeting Paul, Tom and Dave, I was introduced to Gary who would be fitting me for my clubs. Gary is a pro, and was a very pleasant chap.
We hit a few balls with my own 7 iron to give a starting point, and had a look at the stats on the monitor. Gary and I then discussed what irons interested me, and we filled a form in with some details about me and my game.
I said I would like to try the mp59s and the ap2s, and gary suggested that I try the ping I 20s.
I got set up and stared with the mp59s, they had s33 shafts. hit a few balls and then we discussed the results on the monitor, what we noticed immediately was that the carry had improved by 7 or 8 yards with the mizunos over my own irons, but what I really liked was the dispersion was much better and was half what my own irons were into 6 yards. Great start.
Tehn on the the i20s with the ping shaft. I didnt really like thse as much, still felt ok, but didnt feel as good as the mp59s. after hitting them again over to the monitor and the dispersion was out to 14 yards and distance wise was out to with 20 yards between the longest and shortest ball.
Next came the ap2 again with s300's, liked these to butthe launched higher and were around 10 to 15 yards shorter than the mizuno and again the dispersion was out.
After going trough all the results, on the monitor, we decided the mp59s would be best, then we did a lie check and found that 3 deg flat was what I needed, so the irons were sent to be sorted whilst I spoke to Paul.
It was a great time, the staff were helpful and friendly and I would certainly reccomend the process. I was a bit disappointed that I never got to try the irons with a px shaft, but I never asked and the results with the s300 were very favourable.
After we finished, I went and played 18 at Galgorm, played ok, hit some good shots with the irons, they are like a knife through butter... awesome.... but will take a bit getting used too, I am getting a higher ball flight and was hitting a cut, so some work to do, but excited about it.
MASSIVE thanks again for the opportunity, very nice to meet everyone, I am a very grateful chap.
