After my hole in one......and good round

On Wednesday gone when I played to my hcap.
Today I had an even better round in the club comp.....got 39 stableford points (gross 94 playing off 25 ) just 3 points behind the winner.Had best ever front 9 of 8 over (no doubles) and only 3 putted TWICE,another PB.
I was on 36 points standing on the 16th tee and made the HUGE MENTAL ERRORS of a)telling myself 3 bogeys would get me 42 points and b) started checking my card/score too often on last 3 holes,even on the fairways.I just couldnt help it.Went on to record NIL score at the 16th,1 at the 17th and 2 at the 18th.Played so well for 15 holes and blew up toward the end.Never mind I took so many positives from today and I will be gutted if I dont get a cut,as thats what I have been trying and working so hard to get.

Its easy to realise a good score is on the cards with a few to go then balls it up. All part of the learning curve

It was a weird strange mixed emotions feeling walking off the course getting my best ever stableford points IN A COMP yet feeling slightly dissapointed because of the way it ended.Just have to keep telling myself how well I played for 1st 15 holes.....(2nd game in a row where didnt score at only 1 hole the 16th)

haha we all have our nemesis hole I am sure. Mine is usually the 4th! Always seem to blob or get 1 point on it

yep no what you mean

Of our 4 par 5's I nearly always do best on the hardest hole (SI 3 ) as it has no up or downess on it like the other 3 ( i can struggle with downhill shots ) .But that par 5 16th hole has smashed me last 2 stableford games....even more annoying after cracking drives each time.

GUTTED absolutely GUTTED to be told no hcap cut after getting39 stableford points in a comp.Was angry and frustrated at 1st..........but once I had it explained to me Ive calmed down.....just 1 more point was needed..just 1 more point....

I feel for some of the lads I play with stuck on 28 hcap as in stableford comp there gonna have to score 37 points to get a cut....cant see it happening.
