After a round do you or can you replay every shot ?

Straight after the round, no problem. Beyond that, not really. I have friends who will say to me "Do you remember that great/terrible* shot you hit on the fourth at so-and-so golf club?" - usually greeted with a blank look and a shake of the head.

Of course I can remember every shot. Sometimes I even write about them on here if I think it was an entertaining match. I think knock outs are more interesting for other people, medals etc not so much.

There is a thread with 993 pages of people writing about their rounds, so obviously a lot of people remember them.

Yes. I can replay every shot in my head, until I play another round. Then I'll struggle. So, Saturday night I'll remember all of Saturday's round, but if I play on Sunday, I'll start struggling to remember a lot of the Saturday round.

A bloke I know not only has perfect recall but an uncontrollable urge to corner the unwary and subject them to a blow by blow account of his round. Even the most extravagant displays of disinterest fail to stop the flow. If he's seen approaching - run.
Doesn't every club have one ?
Ours is made worse with the retelling done with a Southern drawl .

I remember some shots but only a few, usually the highlights and low lights. No, I tend not to recount them back in the clubhouse, although I might mention I eagled - real stand outs.

My pet hate; when the guy I just played the round with wants to talk about shot after shot. I have, on occasion, reminded them I was actually with them and saw it all…

Last game I played was Monday. I'm unlikely to have a clear recollection of any of my shots after my next game, although I did play a fairly good game over all.

But I think that I will forever remember Upsidedown's hole-in-one with a 1970s Slazenger Ambassador 4-iron.

I think a lot of people when they walk in the clubhouse and are asked how did you get on mate think people actually are interested and need a blow by blow account.

Good ok or rubbish are the only words people need to hear in this situation.

Obviously sitting down with the group you have played with the occasional great/awful shot might get mentioned but that’s all.

Last Saturday:

Good contact with a 3 wood off first the tee, which went way too high and the wind took it into the trees on the right.

90 degree chip out onto fairway.

Thinned a 6 iron approach which worked and ended up 4 feet from the pin.

One putt for a par.

The rest of the round was pretty similar - a complete fight, but ended up with a decent score.

I had cause to do this on Tuesday.
I lost the scorecard on Tuesday and had to go through hole by hole to put the score down on a replacement card luckily it was only for the front nine.
Sadly I was dong the scores for all players in the group, two were also doing there own but the 4th was not.

I used to come home and tell the wife shot by shot.....then she came home one day and started telling me shot by shot.

When I complained, she said she had to listen to me for years.....I tried to explain that I don't take as many shots as her.

BUT IT FELL ON DEAF EARS.

I definitely can’t. I developed a decent ability to focus on the shot in hand most of the time. It doesn’t help me hit them better but it does help me forget most bad shots.

If I see the score and arcoss I can remember enough to adjust correctly but that’s it.
