After a round do you or can you replay every shot ?

One of the reasons I'm concerned about my cognitive decline is I can't really anymore. I used to be able to tell you every shot I hit for a week or two afterwards (interestingly I can still walk through every shot from my first round at Pebble Beach 25 years ago).

Now I have a hard time and hate to admit if I forget to write down a score for a couple holes have a hard time recounting my shots...

I clicked on this topic to say exactly the same thing - until maybe a year ago, I could definitely remember every single shot. Now, I quite commonly cannot remember a couple per round at my home course (always certain putts and e.g. whether I two or three putted, just have to go with what the scorecard says). The cognitive decline possibility occurs to me each time - I'm not yet convinced whether it's that or just that my approach to golf is different (a different level of intensity/meaning for me given I've been playing better/getting back to my best since around the same point in time where this started happening).

When playing a new course, there's many shots I can't remember, but that doesn't concern me as much as I feel it's justified by not having the reference points in my memory/not being able to remember certain holes at all.

I can remember most. Sometimes I’ll forget exactly where a chip ended up on the green or some putts.
Yep, I suspect for those of us who are having this struggle it's more commonly around/on the green, perhaps because there's less time/walking to process between shots.

Aside from the 'can I', the 'do I' is an absolute yes - as is probably the case for all of us. Depending on how the round went (I mainly only play weekends) somewhere between much of Monday morning vs much of the week is spent recounting the 'if onlys' from the weekends round/s. Certain ridiculous missed putts for personal best rounds/comp wins  are still hanging with me years later!

I'll remember 2 or 3, that's it. The day after, 1 at best.

This is best for me. Every so often one sticks in my head, always a bad one, and it messes with my sleep 😩.

My BiL is one who remembers every shot, every hole. Different people..........

If it’s my own track then I can remember them all though I don’t replay them in my head. If it’s a round on a track not my own then I struggle to remember them…in fact I usually struggle to remember every hole never mind shot. Not an age thing as replaying a round in my head is not something I’ve ever done.

I played consecutive rounds last weekend in Captains weekend . I had a good round on the Saturday 69 and a great round on the Sunday 63 . I can only remember 75% of my 63 round . But I’m getting old 😂😂

For some reason I can although there are shots I'd like to erase.
The fact you’ve posted this at 1am, really hit a familiar note!

Yeh, I can and do. It’s my prehistoric way of analysing a round, my own stats. Was it really my putting that cost me today, or was it my approach play not being close enough. Or in the heat of the moment I felt my irons were crap, but actually it was my driving that put me in trouble off the tee, meaning my irons were often some sort of recovery shot. That type of thing.

I can usually remember a couple of rounds but then it fades away to just certain individual shots from rounds i played years ago.

Now, if you were to ask my wife if I have a good memory, she’d laugh her head off! I can’t remember what I had for tea last night, never mind agreeing to do diy this weekend!

At the end of a round my pals can discuss at length any shot that they or I played that day.
I will remember 1 or 2 memorable shots. But I think it's because I'm not interested rather than a memory problem.
If you've got other, more important stuff on your mind or your interest in the golf itself has waned a bit then I don't think you store it.
