After 30 years today is my last day...

Had you down for having more sense than to run into a burning building Amanda. :)

Seriously, all the very best in your new career, I'm sure you are more than capable of pulling it off. (y)

Talking of which, let us know when the calendar is out... ;)

Watch Fireman Sam on tv it will give you some clues what to expect
Only joking . Great move hope it goes well.
What made you choose fire service?

Ha ha! I wanted to help serve the community and be part of a professional team...not sure that really verbalises the desire but it's close. It has been something I've thought about over the years but work didn't make it viable and then golf entered by life and couldn't do that 5 mins from the station! I did think I'd left it too late but thought I'd give it a go and have had nothing but positive feedback and encouragement from the service.

I need to stock up on the Voltarol and Ibuprofen I think!

No pain no gain.(y)

A friends SiL is heavily involved in organising Fire Service golf at national level. From what I hear, you’ll find many kindred spirits in your new employment.
