Ha ha! I wanted to help serve the community and be part of a professional team...not sure that really verbalises the desire but it's close. It has been something I've thought about over the years but work didn't make it viable and then golf entered by life and couldn't do that 5 mins from the station! I did think I'd left it too late but thought I'd give it a go and have had nothing but positive feedback and encouragement from the service.

I need to stock up on the Voltarol and Ibuprofen I think!

I did 31 years as a full time Fireman/Firefighter, 14 years in London then 17 years in Cheshre.
Been drawing my pension since 1994. My hope is to be on pension for longer than I served but at 81 I may not make it! ?

For sure around here. Was kind of gutted I wasn't trained and ready to help out on the 23rd when all around were getting flooded.
