I'm in charge of booking an away day/weekend package and we've set an individual cost total of £500 - £600 maximum.

Can anyone strongly recomend somewhere home or abroad and any reputable golf package websites?

I was looking at St Andrews old course but looking at their website, it seems like there are all sorts of clauses/conditions.

Where you based, travelling from?

More info would help gauge what you'll spend on travel alone, never mind green fee's and accomodation and swally.

Not sure about links to Inverness from your airport but if you can get there, then you have Castle Stuart, Boat of Garten, Spey Valley, Nairn, Nairn Dunbar, Kingussie, Newtonmore and a few others.

All within a reasonable distance of each other and all very good courses.

Worth a look if it was me.

Just looking into a golf break in May 2011 to mark one of the old gits' 50th. 8 of us going and looking at Spain or Portugal. I use GolfBreaks.com to book our annual golf weekend in the UK. Prices are good and usually get a decent discount. I like that they arrange everything for you too and usually sort the tee times we want. Can't recommend them enough. For this little trip they quoted the following, amongst others;

Penina - £425 each for 7 nights on B&B, 7 rounds of golf!

La Manga- £475 each for 7 nights on B&B, 6 rounds of golf

flights on top, but that would be less than £600.
