Ours is drying out and running too but the greens are still receptive to my shots, which aren't loaded with spin by any stretch of the imagination. It is becoming more critical to hit the fairways though as the rough is starting to bear its teeth,

I noticed the other day that CONGU have extended the winter rule period to the end of May so some places must still be feeling it. Usually you have to apply to the local union for permission to use preferred lies past April, this year they are saying you can use them but you have to inform the union you are doing so.

Ours is similar, desperately needs some rain. They cored the greens a couple of weeks ago and barely rained since, theyre not in the greatest of shape now. Cant hold a full wedge on thgm even, definitely links style golf needed (but thats usually the case in the dry weather for us)

it takes me a long time to get used to this kind of golf. im pretty brutal at running the ball in from 50 yards or so. its actually a side of the game I need to really practice.

I called up for a quick 9 this morn but couldn't get out as there was a over 55's comp on. I watched in awe as they old timers rolled the ball in nicely to pin high from 50 yards with a dunt of a mid iron. very impressed :)
