A weekend of two halves.

Saturday morning went out & played in the qualifier for our President's Prize - not too bad with 32 points but miles off a qualifying place (top 8 only). Then played in afternoon in the first match of the foursomes comp - neither me nor partner could hit the proverbial coos erse with a banjo and got a 6&5 whupping. Home in the evening a bit deflated.

Today went out & played first match in the singles knock-out. Played pretty well against a player with handicap 12 shots better than me and ended up winning 6&5. "So you should have, with all those shots" I hear you cry - but the best bit is that 4 of those 6 holes were won gross. Ok he didn't play great, but still am chuffed.

classic golf weekend that! congrats on the win, the confidence winning holes gross with shots is something you just cant buy good luck in future rounds.

I've got the second round of our knock-out this week against a chap giving me 14 strokes so hope your win is a good omen. Can I blame you if I lose for using all the high handicappers luck in one go?!!
