Dear members of the forum,

I am writing to ask for your assistance in a matter which is of huge importance to me. On Saturday, Homer and I have our 1st round winter knockout match and given our record in these things isn't very good I would dearly like to progress further than round 1. When I left the club on Saturday, Homer was in buoyant mood having tied first in the weekly roll-up with 36 points, his love\hate relationship with the Pings was falling on the side of love, he seemed happy with his swing and all appeared to be rosy in his golfing garden.

I have already requested that Homer refrains from practicing, having lessons or thinking anything but positive thoughts about his golf.

I would like to ask you all that for this week you do your upmost to keep him in this positive mindset and massage his ego, if you don't have anything positive to say to him, please refrain from saying anything at all. It's full on "kid gloves" treatment for the entire week.

I thank you all in advance for your help and co-operation in this very important matter.

Kind Regards

Hawkeye :fore:

Cant see this post greatly helping his feeling of well being Mike ,,

i just hope he doesnt loose on a count back in the roll up :D

Best of Luck to ye tho

Sorry mate, can't do it!! He'll be rubbish next week, he's shot his golfing bolt:D

Big hook out of bounds on the first and it will go downhill from there, he'll be talking about the TM TP's on the 4th and he will hit his first shank on the 7th.

You'll be shaking hands on the 15th!! Mystic Rod has spoken

Carefully avoided playing in the Sunday roll up, hitting the chipping green or visition a range. Day one of cold turkey survived although the urge to get the putting mirror out last night was almost too much to bear. I did play nicely bar two crap drives 3 x 3 putts (in the first six holes) and two duffed chips although they were compensated by three up and downs on the back nine.

Hawkeye and I are into the 3rd year of our partnership and so far haven't painted with the full palette and have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory on several occasions. I have a feeling 2014 will be better and we have to win to set up a mini grudge match against two of the Sunday roll up's "dream" pairings.

The wife did ask if I was going to the range tonight!!!!!!

If he does that, he'll be playing left handed then we are in trouble :D

How's your game Hawkeye

Happy with your clubs? any minor tweaks you'd like to put in place, are those grips grippy enough, time for a change of glove maybe! :D

... Oh and good luck!

Homer....do you breathe in or out on your backswing?

Just think how well Homer could play though if he managed to squeeze in one little lesson this week in order to fine tune things....

I am staggered that 36 points gets anywhere in swindle reckoning. Normally its 42 comes third on a count back.

That's what happens when you have accurate handicaps and SSS Murph. If you scored 42 points round our place and didn't win I'd be stunned. 38 would normally be enough for at least top 3.

So you've cracked it then Homer, game grooved and exactly where you'd want it to be?

I'd be comfier with a range session or three but under team orders. Getting to the practice ground at first light on Saturday instead but don't tell the gaffer.

I don't breathe at all in my swing. As it is fractionally below the speed of sound I can get away with a momentary respiratory pause. I might try it with the eyes open though

see! thats the way to answer back the jokers and naysayers..........

now stop standing up in your swing and enjoy the game at the weekend, good luck!

Ra-Ra-Ra.

Give us an H. Give us an O. Give us an M. Give us an E. Give us an R.!!

What have we got ............................. a dyslexic train wreck.... only kidding Homer.

Play well buddy and enjoy.
