A hidden gem in the north?

Heheh, just kidding Craw. You are more than welcome at ND & considering I'm playing a set of Matsushiba clubs at the moment, I don't think that I can really make a statement about what anyone else plays... :P

My dad & eldest brother are both members of Hopeman and I've played it quite a few times. I'll admit that some of the holes can seem a bit week but the back 9 is great, especially with the gorse in the summer - when its fully grown & the wind is blowing a gale it's a real challenge & the tightness makes up for the lack of length.

When you're up in May, give me a shout - I'll sign you on to Nairn Dunbar if you like.

RobC

Hi Rob, would you be willing to sign Algar Grumps and I on next September before the Tain and Golspie games????

Go figure Steve!!!!

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

re Duff House Royal I've played it twice and it's a pretty decent knock imo, they don't let the rough get longer than a couple of inches so you don't spend ages hunting for balls, they have some huge rolling greens so your lag putting needs to be good. Setting is nice and although it's near the sea it's pure parkland. Holes are a good mix, quite long course I recall from the whites anyway.
17th is brutal into a headwind. Clubhouse offered good fast catering and was friendly as was the Pro Shop.
Worth a round if you're in the Banff area. Royal Tarlair is just along the road at MacDuff, I haven't played it but it doesn't look anything like as good as Duff House from the road anyway, built on a hill and very exposed.

Craw/Steve,

Do you guys not know how to use the "reply" button? What's with all the quotes? I'm on my iPhone here and it usually takes 15 minutes to scroll down any of your posts for a one sentence reply.

Harumph fae Edinburgh.

:(

John, off the other day and one of my mates had some P&J Golf Vouchers left, one of which was for Hopeman, so we headed over there. It was not windy enough to blow the ball off course, just a stiff breeze. Like a said not a long course by any means, but would be an excellent warm up course for you. Good scoring by both of us too. :D :D :D

I've had a rethink Patrick.

Castle Stuart do a deal at £135 if you play twice within 4 days. So the 2nd round is only £45 effectively. I think we'll do that instead.
