A few beers?

For me a no before or during but one afterwards in the club house relaxing fine. It is a little treat for yourself after a long round.

when i played at Western Gails we were plied with lots of large ones before the match, of which i had 8 treble G&Ts and played like a dream, so that back fired on our hosts, but not so later that night :(

24 G&T's and you played golf, I wouldn't be able to stand or even see:eek: you've either a phenomenal constitution or they watered yer booze!

Played in 40*C in Canada and Canadian cold beer served by a beauty in shorts for 5 bucks CND was heaven during the round.

Apart from that, alcohol doesnt mix with the concentration you require for golf

I'm a reasonably big guy and lets just say i was fine playing golf, but once back in the club house and a few more plus wine and port i could no stand up.

Would not want to do it too often, but theres i guy i know who plays pisssed all the time and he plays like a dream.

I carry a hip flask with liquor for banter, sometimes we have a small swig to warm up etc. but no cans of lager or getting drunk during the game. Just a tipple occasionally :)

For me guiness with a bacon roll, or full breakfast, is a pleasure; cold beer on a hot day another. There are far to many other things that have the potential to affect my golf game to consider turning these down........

Don't see what the issue is. A couple of beers from the halfway hut during fun comps is very welcome. A pint or two at lunch before the PM 18 hits the spot perfectly, I even treat the odd tree to a watering on the way round in the afternoon ;)
