A dedicated Rules section?

I see so many posts entitled "another rules question..." i think it may be time for a dedicated section where the rule in question can be alluded to in the title. I find these posts interesting but it would be great if they were all bundled together for easier reference. There's at least one rule question every day

How many questions relating to balls do we get on here????

The trouble is, you would have to many sub sections. That would mean all sections start slowing down IE old posts don't drop off the bottom for a longer time.

The other problem is peeps won't be asking the same questions, I know this is a bit dull for you all that have been on for a long time, but for newbies if all the questions have all ready been answered and are easy to find, they won't bother posting. That means the forum will start to stagnate.

I think a rules section would be enough as it is such a big area. Just wait till Saturday afternoon when you usually see about 5 random ones appear after the weekly game.

I do agree about the stagnation thing though. I hate seeing posts with the reply. "Just do a search". The search sucks, we all know it does but if the usual topics weren't revisited in new threads every now and again then someone may as well compile the info and start a golf monthly wiki.

You'll get more descriptive thread subjects if it has its own section, too.

Everyone should ask away and hope to receive the answer, if anyone is bored with answering just leave it to someone else

I especially think that rules should be answered as, invariably, anyone correctly answered will normally pass on that knowledge round his circle of golfers - it has to be win win

I think it's a decent idea. I'd also be tempted to add an equipment section too.

Good idea I think. Sometimes the same question/issue is posted seperately on Ask the Experts and the Lounge. If we put them all in the same place it would be easier for people to see what's been asked recently.

I think it would also help if we had a convention that thread titles clearly indicated the nature of the query to help people find relevant threads. E.g. "Lost ball in GUR" rather than "Has this ever happened to you?" type titles.
