Right then here is my dilemma....

I have really fancied some new Mizuno MP 53's for quite a while now but due to the price of them (£560 for 4-PW) I havent been able to do anything about it, it was just a dream.

However, last night I came across a second hand set, 4-PW, in very good condition, hardly a mark on them. They were a inch longer than standard which suits me, and had DG S300 shafts in them that I also get on with. All for the price of £299, ,which I thought was very reasonable.

So basically, should I take the plunge? It just seems like too good a deal to turn down. Plus as they are second hand and have lost a little bit of the shine, I could probably swap them with my existing irons without HID noticing

Aztec - before you ask, no im not telling you where they are so you can get them first :D - however, if you want to buy some MP 60's in good condition? ;)

Why not. At that price if you don't get on with them you'll get close to the asking price if you trade them back in again and so wouldn't lose too much on the deal. If they are what you want and the spec is right go for it - he who dares Rodney

dont listen to turbo.. the guys positively exploding in his pants at the thought of this weeks comp. However.....buy em...if you dont get on then sell them no harm, no foul..

Weird how we've never met, yet you know me so well! :D

As has been echo'd do it mate. £299 is a steal and if you don't get on with them, you won't lose much (if any) money trying to sell them on if you look after them.

Go for it .... but if the Mrs is anything like mine she will prob think somethings up if you are sneaking about ha ha .... good luck :)

I just bought a set £649 3-PW I'd rather have paid £299, if you dont like them they will sell on no problem, one of the best irons out at the minute. No brainer
That and Mizuno are quoting long lead times now as they cant get enough of the MP heads
P.S the shine stays on them for ages, just put some dirt on them

Just the best clubs ever, ever, ever, ever... ;)

Where are they from? If from a reliable source, get in there quickly!!

Well they are from a PGA Pro so I would hope that they were the real thing :D
Apparently he will park-ex my old irons for whatever Golfbidder offer for them - I got a quote from Golfbidder this morning that was very pleasing, so guess where im off to shortly :D

You're not going to notice any difference to your MP60's. You are acting impulsively.
Also you might not be able to sell them on easily as 1" longer than standard is quite far off a standard size club.
Why not sit on it for 3 or 4 days, weigh things up properly, you could use the cash for a cool 4 days golf trip, play some new courses etc with your perfectly good MP60's.

He's either brought them and on the course with them or crying into his hot chocolate that someone got in there first and snapped them up :p

i avnt got them yet, but have reserved them and are going for a fitting on sunday where they will check if loft or lie needs altering.

Got a £165 trade in off my old mp 60's so getting an upgrade from nearly 5 yr old clubs to near new ones for £135 :)

I agree there isnt a great deal of difference between new and old but the extra forgiveness wont do any harm. Plus with 3 kids, 2 dogs n a baby on the way i dont really get chance for golf breaks, so this is my treat to myself :D
