7 wood distance ??

Looking to get a 7 wood or 3 iron, does the 7 wood on average go the same distance as a 3 iron ?

Unless you are a very good ball striker, a 7 wood should go further...and higher.

From my point of view and because of my standard of golf I get on easier with the 7 wood.

I tend to carry both a 7 wood and a hybrid.

My 7 wood replaces my 3 and 4 irons (185-200 yards) after which my 20* LSP takes over in the 205-220yd range.

The 7 wood, in my opinion, is way more versatile than the 3 and 4 irons it replaces and is very easy to hit. It gives a towering flight which can get me out of trouble, easily holds greens, etc. whereas my LSP is a much lower ball flight offering different advantages for different situations.

I love my 7 wood.
