Which 7 Wood for beginner?

So following on from my Wedges question - I’m just getting into golf, and have been playing a couple of years, shooting 110 on average, sub 100 a few times with 96 at Rickmonswoth a PB.

I’m not a fast, powerful swinger, following neck surgery years back, and I’ve read a few articles stating that 7 Woods are great for shorter hitters.

Based on this, what ‘used’ 7 Wood should I start looking for online? Are any of them more forgiving, for someone with a tendency to slice?

I appreciate a fitting would be best, but for now I’m looking to just buy used, and get more time on the course before I start spending too much ££££!

£100 - £160 seems to provide plenty of used options across well know brands. Any favourites out there?

I have hybrid, a used Callaway X2 Hot 3 (19) which I enjoy and get on well with.

The I’m looking for something to use for that 2nd or 3rd fairway shot, when I’m still 150 - 200 out from the green, but want a little more height on the ball.

I have a Cobra F9 fairway wood, extremely forgiving and easy to hit. They're a few years old now. Honestly I think most 7 woods will be fairly easy to hit anyway. Ping are always a good place to look at for easy-launching fairway woods. I'm liking my G425 3 wood that I got recently for £170 - that's the SFT tech for anti-slice. You might be able to find a 7-wood version of that.

I'd suggest looking at the Wilson Dynapower - cheaper than more premium brands. i have a 5 and 7 and the 7 in particular easily promotes a draw compared to the 7 it replaced, which gave a fade (and shorter overall distance).

i bought a new one for well within your budget although think they have stopped production now, ahead of a new range, but some stores still have discounted stock.

Golfclubs4cash have Cleveland Launcher XL Halo 21° 7-wood with senior flex shaft as new for £95 delivered.

They also have a well used Cobra S2 21° 7-wood with senior flex shaft for £24 delivered which would be much more in my price range, although I would be after regular flex.

You could also consider ladies 5-woods as they would often be more lofted than mens 5-woods with a shaft nearly the same length as a mens 7-wood.
I often play with a chap who uses a ladies 5-wood to very good effect - he is several years younger than me and is off 17.6

My 7-wood equivalent is a 23° Cobra baffler hybrid. I don't have it in the bag very often as my signature shows.
This thread got me thinking about it, so I'm putting it in the bag for tomorrow morning's game.
Driver, 3-wood, 20° and 23° hybrids, and 3-SW irons.
