67 today and still not happy - Greedy????

Well done James , not bad for a par 68 course with all those short par 5's :D

It's about time you started putting your talent to good use , keep it up mate

Cracking round James - well done. Hope you don't play that well at Cooden!! ;)

They're only short if you hit a full drive on them.

And only an idiot takes driver of some of them coz the trees are so tight to the fairways.

You either have to thread it through them, or go over, or sometimes round, them.

Did I mention there's a lot of trees.

But then, maybe Jamie's an idiot, who just got lucky for once......

But I couldn't possibly suggest that for even one moment - I'll have to leave that to you to decide. ;)

If you can't be happy with a 67 then frankly I'm not sure what to say. There will always be missed putts and not getting up and down in every round and there isn't much you can do about the putts.

Most of us will never shoot 67 so I'd just be happy with it if I were you.

... and yet I still feel like I left a few out there :D

Wasted shots included - not getting up and down on the 4th, the missed 6ft eagle putt on 8, missed 3ft putt on 10, not getting up and down on the 14th, missed 10ft putt on 17 - and that's not even complaining about the bogie on the 5th after leaking a drive to the right.

I feel like I should have shot a 62 with a bogie!!!

The only 'wasted' shot was the putt on the 10th.

The others were potential gains if you had had a fraction more luck. If the chip on the 4th had released just a fraction more. If your 8 iron on the 8th had ended up either a yard or so shorter, or a couple of yards to the right, so you could have attacked the putt more. If the wedge on 14th had been played by a decent player who could actually hit the bally green from 100 yards. If the wedge into 17 had checked like all the other wedge shots, rather than releasing unexpectedly.

Yes, there were other shots that on another day could have been luckier, but there was also that putt on 15 which could easily have not dropped. The 'miraculous' escape on 2 which on another day could have rattled around in the trees leaving you with a 6 or 7.

Noone sinks every makable putt in a round, but that one on 10 was the only shot you 'should' have made.

Still.....

If it had been the perfect round, you'd have had to give up the game if there's no hope of ever bettering it.

You know there's a 67, or less out there.

Just put some blimmin practise in, and learn how to play the game.

Lazy git :p

Oh, and I've just remembered.

Walking to the first tee it was ;

'Oh I did my left shoulder in last week, working in the garden. And I must have slept funny last night, coz my right shoulder hurts when I turn. If I turn my shoulders like this..... Oooh that hurts, I won't be able to complete a full swing today.

Are we playing for a tenner a hole ?'

Thieving git.

It was the best round I've EVER seen live, and he did it because he made very few mistakes, and putted very well with that rediculous new grip he uses nowadays.

Blimey Clive! When your playing partner takes the time to write a hole by hole account of your round it makes you feel pretty humble. I didn't realise you were paying so much attention :D

I'm pleased with a 67 (obviously)... the banter has made it more so... but I still feel like it wasn't a great round, a few up-and-downs missed, a couple of putts that were makeable didn't go in, visiting the trees on 2, 5, 13 and being hampered by them on 9, 10 and 16. To still walk off with a 67 and have 3 bogies on the card makes me wonder about what could have been...64?, and I do realise it could have been worse, that putt on 15 was a beauty!

I hate trees!!!! Gimme an easy links course any day! ;) ;) ;)

For all your typing I'll buy you an orange juice & coke next time I see you!

nb: I'd laugh at some of the comments if it didn't hurt so much to do so... bloody shoulder ;)

great shooting James. I knew you had it in there somewhere ;)

Now. Just take it easy and don't get too cocky as I don't want to have to carry you for 36 at Worthing :D :D
