4k or HD, that is the question

BT are the only Broadcaster transmitting in 4K on their UHD Channel. If you're buying a TV then 4K is the way to go. 8K is way off and you only get the real effect at 60" and above, the bigger the better.

You need to be "past proof" Bob.
I don't think any modern TV will come with Scart sockets nowadays. Or VGA.

PS Valves have disappeared too.

Using SCART, it doesn't really matter how good the panel resolution is that you buy. SCART can't carry HD signal so you won't get any benefit whether it's a £200 or £2000 TV.

Your benefit would have to come from internal services such as Freeview HD or SMART services if it was that type of model you chose.

Fair enough Bob, as long as you have some HD source. Probably best to ditch TiVo and get a hard drive set up to record HD to and read from.

Well the BT TV box has a 1TB hard drive, I also have a 500GB DVD recorder and as I've had the 500GB TIVO for around 15 years I'll keep hold of it
