Well went down the range for the second time with my new driver the Cleveland DST 10.5 Launcher. Improvement on yesterdays slice. Well at least less left to right and that was with a left to right wind. Come home and moving some stuff i came a across my new travelbag and tour bag i use on holiday. Problem is the bag won't take such a long driver. Well it can be squeezed in but if you put a little pressure on the top you can feel the shaft bend, so its tight.

So the club is .75" longer than my old Diablo making it a little harder on consistency and also i can't take it on holiday. With this in mind what do you guys think about me asking my Pro to take an inch off or so? Going to try choking down on my drives this week to see if i get better consistency. How much can be cut off before you effect shaft properties?

Tried all combinations the only way it will go in is with the tour bag already in and the headcover off. But it is tight so i worry about the bag being thrown around by the airline. To be fair shaft length is something i have thought about in the past with my 45" shaft in the diablo. Now i have a 45.75".

I got an inch took off my G10 about 2 months ago. Best £3 I've ever spent. Add a couple of inches of lead tape to the bottom to get the shaft kicking again and away you go.
You'll lose 10/20 yds on your drives, but you'll also walk about a mile less per round.

Back when 45" became the standard driver length (about 10-12 years ago?), I got a new one and couldn't keep it in play. Finally realized it was two inches longer than my previous driver, got it whacked down, and voila... Fairways again.

Two drivers later, still playing at 43" and gripping down a la Anthony Kim. Keep in mind I'm on the stocky side, so wouldn't suggest 43 for all, but the added control seems to equate to more solid striking and thus, longer shots.
