4 Putt

If you have access to a video phone/camera, do some filming of your game and see if anyone on here can help. Plenty of clever folk on here.

I've only just returned to the game after 16 years, and while some of my scoring problems I can perhaps attribute to ring-rust, many I believe are mental.. I've been told I have a good swing, but my mind often isn't fully in the game. On almost every tee, I stand over my ball with visions of splitting the fairway, only to occasionally pull a topper, or a hook or slice, or a sky-er, and my game crumbles on that hole as I start to chase a score - making matters worse.

I also become acutely aware of watchers and following parties, and put myself under pressure to speed up in an attempt not to hold up play. I begin to rush my game and start hitting poor shots, including putts, without fully thinking through what I want to do - which has the opposite effect of slowing play further.

Neither will deter me from continuing to play, but I do need to sort my head out if I'm to improve .. and take a few lessons from someone who knows what they are doing, rather than me just muddling on.
