Why are there not any 2 woods [Brassies] sold anymore.
I used to love my old persimmon McGregor one off links turf.

Tips for a 3 wood.....sweep the ball tight off the turf allowing a slight fade.

BTW those who say a 5 wood hits the ball further than a 3 wood really do not understand golf. (or logic}
It might work for them because they are unaware of how to hit a ball properly.

It might work for them because they are unaware of how to hit a ball properly.
I think with a slow swing speed and not much roll on the ground, it's perfectly plausible that a 3 wood wouldn't go much further than a 5 wood. If the loft gets below a certain point I think you need a decent amount of swing speed to launch it properly. i.e. the 3 wood launches lower, but consequently drops sooner and just rolls a bit more than the 5 wood. Less loft doesn't always mean more carry past a certain optimum - imagine whacking your putter off the fairway for example. It's not going to go further than a wood.
