3 over gross back 9... I should be pretty chuffed with that right?

Well I am not really! Yes I hit some great shots and I had 8 holes of stellar golf. It was a par fest to say the least...

Except a 6 on the par 3 17th and a missed 2 foot birdie on the 18th! The chip before, for eagle, almost went in and I then hit it soft at the middle on a cups worth of right to left break... the same break that turned the ball from the cup the shot before!

I am chuffed with 8 holes of the 9, stuffed my mate from work, who is a much better player, 4&3 after being 3 down after 8 (I started my 8 hole par spree on the 9th).

Just one blocked 5 iron... Oh well with the club champs in a week and a half I have to take this as a good thing!

A blip can happen at any time though so just enjoy the good stuff. It will happen again but hopefully not in your club champs!!

I had a "6 on the par 3 17th" on Sunday. In fact, I have this most Sundays. That's why I'm stuck on 12.

Golfers will never be satisfied will they. You play off 14 and youre peed off you shot +3 for 9 holes

I shot +2 yesterday at my new course with bogeies on the last 2 holes. Over the moon with that and will take every positive I can from it and wont go anywhere near negative thoughts.

Come on scienceboy you're allowed to mess up more than one hole when youre off your h/c cos youve got millions of spare strokes to play with. Thats what a h/c is for and why we're not all off scratch. You know its true

I was told to expect a sternly worded anonymous letter to my handicap sec.

My score for the round was about 83-84 (not exact cos its matchplay) I really threw 4 shots on the front to missed short putts, stroke did not feel good until the 9th hole, when it clicked.

Poor guy off 11 (once 6), lifelong golfer from a scratch level golfing family, got stuffed by a 14 hdcp... Even when at the start we decided to waive the shots I should receive as he had not played much this year.

I hope he doesn't read this somehow... its accurate but I don't want to seem to boast
