My plans for next year are to join a club, get an official handicap again and enjoy playing golf regularly again.

I have a round booked at the Brabazon in March with my Father and brother.
Also I have been asked to be best man for my mate and will be organising a golf trip to Northern Ireland in september.

Main aim - to continue to enjoy the game , play as many meets and society days as possible on great course with good company

Hopefully I might be able to get to 3.4

I've just had a boss year, so doubt I could even set that as an example of great golfing years,so:-

1. Maintain a handicap less than 5.4 (I wont, but godammit, I'll try).

2. carry on playing as many top 100 and other premium courses as possible.

3. Do a summer trip to Ireland.

4. Possibly do another winter trip to NI/Ireland.

5. Try to get the NW trophy played for again (Birchy, hope you do well in Vegas;)), and started to be played for annually again, although with a different format.

6. Possibly try and sort out a weekend 2 game meet in Yarkshire, if I can be bothered (getting harder and harder).

Everything will depend on when we sell the house and finally move (fed up with waiting now lol). After that will be a case of trying to stay fit and healthy, exploring a new area and sampling lots of new courses or ones i havent played for a long time and then finding a new home course

1. get my handicap back down to nearly where it was i went up 3 shots this year, didn't enjoy my golf as trying to do my house extension brought a lot of strain

2. start to enjoy my golf again have had 2 lessons and can see a big improvement and change my attitude now everything has been done on the house.

3. start planning our September trip to Ireland playing Portstewart , Portrush and hopefully Ballyliffin again.

4.play at least 1 or 2 opens a month , have done it for the past few years and really enjoy.

Get back to Cat 1 again, possibly a tall order in my first year but I intend to invest a lot of time trying coupled with the considerable investment I've spent on renewing my whole bag and wardrobe.

1. Play more golf (aiming for 100 rounds next year, up from 80 odd this year)

2. Enjoy it more when on the course, don’t get bogged down with analysing stuff.

3. Practice at least once a week, either range or practice ground, always 100yds and in or putting.

4. Putt more aggressively, I leave far too many putts just short.

Once the winter league is over (I've promised my partner I'll play modern clubs for WL) I intend to play old school for the whole year, including qualifiers.

Handicap wise I'd like to think I can stay at 12 but hopefully get a cut.

Effectively taking a year break from targets and all that stuff and will just wish to survive being captain for the year.

I'm sure I'll have a few minor things on the go, continuing the good work to eliminate my main miss (pull left) which is going really well and also need to sharpen things up around the greens as my stats dictate.

Playing more would be nice but a "hey T, don't worry about the bill, we'll pick that up" from Jean-Claude Juncker is more likely.

if i can learn to hit the small ball before the big ball i will be happy.

hopefully have it twigged.

its not easy playing a round of golf as if you are in one big bunker.

I'd like to get down to 3.0 or lower.
I've got a few top courses lined up: Liphook, Hindhead & West Hill (all for HFH) plus I won the auction to play Bearwood Lakes so will have to sort that out some time, plus I'd like to tie a game at Blackmoor in with the BL visit.
I also fancy some golf in the sun again this year.

I want to play more qualifiers and get my h/c “up” a couple of shots. Never won one single game last year where we play for a couple of quid, payed out every time, probably added another £300 onto my membership fees.

Get my health and life back by early March. 3 weeks hard practice after 6 months without hitting a ball, and then take the season as it comes. Just golfing with mates will be a pleasure.
