I don't know if any of you have had the same issue, but thought I would put it out there to get some advice. I took my new M1 out for its first round today and it was going really well until after one really good drive I see something fly off infront of me and hit the tee peg and then the bin next to it. Look a bit closer and it's my stupid clubhead. It looks like the shaft has failed just above the hosel. I took it back to where I bought it and they offered to change the shaft and I could take it there and then, but the club was damaged when it flew off.

Am I within my rights to get the head replaced as well as the shaft?

It pretty much ruined my round today. I played the twentyten and it's tough enough as it is in wet conditions with a driver. Made it beyond tough without it.

Not heard of that being a common issue , so you have probably been very unlucky.
Take it back and demand a total replacement, it should not be a problem,

I moaned and they've said they will send it to TM now. I don't see what's different with replacing the shaft and replacing the head and shaft. They won't be able to sell the head they take it from anyway

If they accept responsibility for changing the shaft then they must also change the head if it's damaged

Start quoting sale of goods act, fitness for purpose
Threaten to sue their backsides off and I suspect within 10 minutes you will have a new driver in your hand .

I've asked him to get the big boss to give me a call tomorrow. I buy a lot there so I would have thought he would be happy to sort it out, just needed to know where I stand really. If he doesn't then he's lost a good customer

You didn't buy a head and a shaft, you bought a driver as one complete piece did you not?
I'd be taking PtF's advice as your contract of sale is with the shop, not TM, I've had a few instances where golf shops have tried that stunt.

One would be when you took a trench out of the side of that raised tee at Tyneside 😁

As someone else has said, you bought a driver, that driver is not fit for purpose. You are entitled to a new driver.

American golf in hambrook. The manager wasn't in though, so the bloke I spoke to offered to just change the shaft. It would have been fine if the head didn't get chipped when it went flying. I'm going to speak to the manager later, I'm sure he will just give me a new club

I got to know the manager Matt quite well over the years so I would hope he would sort it out. The amount of money I've spent in there over the past few years I would hope so. I'm a serial club changer

Ooh man, that's harsh :D
You've been on my case ever since I snaffled those hedgehog wheels from under your nose :whoo:

Grrrrrrrr, me flippin carts muddled up to the flippin eyeballs. Ironic thing is a couple of months ago there was a blog on here about declaring an unplayable ball, then going back to where you played your last shot. The only time I thought that could of been of benefit was when you put it on the path and heavy grebo said " you have got away with that one" I still chuckle to this day.

Sale of Goods act - should be an immediate change
