Great weather for the start of The County Champioship. Who do you think will win this year?

Lancashire look like they should beat Essex and Yorkshire have a match on their hands.

What are the odds having such a close relegation as last season and anybody doing what Durham did?

Should be a great season and much closer than the bookies predictions

Lancashire looking good for opening with a win, although I was surprised they didn't enforced the follow on. Lancs tend to start seasons well and then test calls start to disrupt things, Liable be losing at least Jimmy Anderson and Haseeb Hameed.

I'm hoping Lancs can do well, but I fancy Surrey or Middlesex will do it. Strong squad who won't lose many to internationals.

If Surrey put out anything like the side they have this week for most of the championship then theyre going to take all the beating for me, will make my old man happy if nothing else i suppose :)

I'm still peeved at that pathetic contriving of a result at the end of last season that robbed Somerset :(

I see us being in the mix again.

bad decision in retrospect!

Terrible decision. 160 runs ahead it is a no brainer and shows inexperience. Additionally even with wickets in hand Lanci were not putting bat to ball and scoring around 3 per over.

When they were 300 ahead they should have gone for the runs. Playing far too safe which backfired.

However at least we were not beaten unlike some on the wrong side of The Pennines!

So after last years last day antics I’m pleased to that Somerset sent Middlesex down whilst staying up - also finding it rather ironic that they are complaining about a pitch that suited the Home side.

Has the pitch been reported? I heard on day one that it had but nothing since. Somerset could still go down if they suffer a points fine.

Yes they reported it but was deemed just below average which means no point deductions normally because it’s the first time it’s been judged that way but don’t expect it to end there because it’s not Surrey or Middlesex.
