I currently carry Mizuno MX 15s 5iron to SW off the shelf.

First question, does anyone know where I can find out degree loft of the PW and SW.

I am looking to buy a couple of wedges and want to find out what the best combo will be. No higher than a 60' loft.

Also in regards to custom fitting, do you get custom fit wedges or do you buy them off the shelf.

Thanks in advance.

Have a look on the Mizuno website (make sure you log into the Europe or UK one). As a guide, my TM PW is 46 degrees so I bought a 52 and 58 so there was an equal degree of separation.

I do sometimes sacrifice my hybrid or 5 wood and go with a PW, 52, 56 and 60 especially if the course has deep or pot bunkers or lots of rough around the greens

You should be able to sort out the wedge lofts fairly easily. If Mizuno (the website) don't carry the full specs, look at the latest corresponding model.

Here's the figures for the MX 100s

8 Yes 37° 62° D1-D3 36.25"
9 Yes 41° 62.5° D1-D3 35.75"
PW Yes 45° 63° D2-D4 35.50"
SW Yes 55° 63° D2-D4 35.25"

It's possible your PW could be 46 and the SW 56, but I doubt it knowing the way things have been heading!!!

My irons from 2005 have 41.5 9I and 46 PW.

I don't know the date of the MX-15s, but these "new" iron lofts are going to be within a degree (i.m.o.)

I play with two separate wedges, that are 52 and 56.

I asked my pro about acquiring a vokey LW (60) but he's seen my short game and says I get enough loft with an "open" SW around the greens when needed. I agree.

If for example my sand wedge is 55 then it wouldnt be sensible to get a 54'???

I will try and email them and see if I can find out.
Cant find an email adress on the site will give them a bell on Tuesday.

Thanks

If you where thinking of getting fitted for your wedges it wont matter what the lofts are its all about the distance they go

If possible i would go for a fitting to get your yardage gaps filled evenly and to get the correct bounce on each wedge

It is well worth it

My closest effort would be
8 38
9 42
PW 46

Based on other Mizuno's from the same period.....(I had to go upstairs to my spreadsheet on the desktop).

I plan on getting new custom fitted in 2 years and was hoping to fill the gaps now if that was possible.

I want to work the clock system for distances once I get them. I have a rough idea with my pw and sw just now.

This is a long term plan to help me get to single figures. :D

Good luck. I've invested days (literally) in trying to crack the "clock" system......can't do it for toffee.

I have two shots with each club, a half swing, where I don't break the wrists, and the other one!!! which hits the ball the same distance regardless..... :)

Possibly try that to keep it simple. I just something that when Im short of the green that I have a "go to" shot. Aslong as I have a good spread of distances to work with.

I'm sure Mizunos website must have a 'contact us' bit to it. Ask and no doubt you will receive.

It hardly seems worth it.....the answer has already been given to within 1 degree.

That 1 degree may make a difference. If Im to spend £100 ish on 2 wedges I want to make sure the info is 100% accurate.

As I mentioned if my sand wedge is 55' what help would a 54' wedge be? Again I only want to make sure I get the right spread for my bag.

Thanks for yor help everyone it gives me something to go on.

Try and keep a 5* gap in your wedges, so if your PW is 46* and SW 55* you could use a 50* & 60/58*.

I have:

PW 44.5*
GW 50* (changed from 52*)
SW 54.5*
LW 60*

Good lofts but inconsistant makes and shafts, so might be picking up another Cobalt 56* & 50* to get a balence.

Farney. If you can get to a pro shop, ask him or her to measure your lofts and get his or her advice on what wedges you need to fill any gaps. :)

I played on Thurs with GJ & Doh at Doh's place.

In the pro shop they had some "made in Japan" wedges.
First time i've ever seen the Miura and the like in the flesh. They a re a totally different animal. They looked so sexy it was unreal & the milling on the face was far more prominent than on the Vokey's.

I would love to have 3 of these in my bag but a ton & half each, not sure that's realistic...... We'll see.
