to the Scottish Seniors Open, 21-23 August at the Fairmont, St Andrews. Each ticket allows 2 people for all three days so they are good for 4 people and could save you £60 I think if you were going every day.

I won these but can't go so 1st to PM me can have them gratis.

BM.

Our pro raffled the tickets and collected £80 from the raffle and handed out the tickets which he acquired for free as prizes

one member was going to report him to The PGA

What was he going to do with the £80 proceeds? Beer money? :o

How do you come to be a marshall at events like this? I have always fancied doing it at the open! or even being a scorer!

My dad recieved an email about helping (as did most recently retired Police Officers) and i emailed as well. Stroke of luck i think (for me anyway)

I'm a walking scorer for the three days and i am walking round with Chillas, Murray and Brand. Say hi if your there!!

We made it along the the Seniors Open yesterday and enjoyed it very much... apart from the terrible weather!

We followed Woosnam for a bit, then your groupo Steven c... you were doing a mighty fine job of holding the scores up!!! :)

Then when the leading group were on the 9th, we followed them for the rest of the day.

Ralph played very well - only put one shot wrong that we witnessed, a drive into a bunker on the par 5 (12th i think), but recovered well and went on to win. IT was his only tour win ever and he pocketed close to £50k.

It was great being able to get so close to top class players that you probably don't get the opportunity to do at the bigger tournaments. It was very nice being able to say that i saw Woosnam up close even at this stage in his career.

The course (The Torrance) was beautiful and we've added it to our list of places that we must play. The bunkering and natural hazards where just beautiful. Apparantly they are doing deals for four balls so i'll look into it :)

I was with a different group every day (and i was the walking scorer, not the scoreboard carrier!) I had the radio and ear piece! Game 16 Friday and Saturday and game 7 on the Sunday.

I was round with the above 3 on Friday, Giedeon, Owen and Franco on Saturday and Clayton, Torrance and Pinero yesterday.

The course was fantastic, pretty wet at some areas with all the rain but only once did i see a drop from casual water.

The deal is a tee time for £160 (so £40 each) as opposed to £95 per person.
