This I really don't understand...got in touch with a golf club not far from me, listed on the GreeFree site..
Green Fees £18 per round each from 1st Nov..with a 2 for 1 voucher..£36..?????????????? for two of us..The voucher price is only applicable on the daily rate of £20..so the saving is only £4, but they did say we could play as much golf as we wanted...mmmm clocks go back on the 30th Oct not much daylight for long golfing days,,
Anyone else had experiences of trying to use 2for1 vouchers..

Local club to me was £34 a round at the weekend, asked if we can use 2-4-1 vouchers, yes you can. Brill. Turn up and pro says that will be £24 each please!! Shocking.

Were you given reason for this ? voucher sounds self explanitory .. something in the small print mayb?

This is now happening with a lot of courses that accept the vouchers. If they have a day rate, then that's what your 2-for-1 is based on. Unethical or what? Make sure you ask before booking.

Use them all the time, never had a problem. I'm sure somewhere in the small print it states the day rate may be used.

I find it best when ringing the club to book a tee time to ask first if they accept the voucher, then how much before accepting a tee time

Used 2 a couple of weeks ago at Gullane No2, Advised at time of booking price would be based on day rates, got 4ball for £90 which was a £30 saving on the winter rate.

I usually check the club's website first. Most seem to base it on their most expensive rate, so if like me you tend to play late afternoon when the cheaper rates kick in then you're not really saving much. Found this out when I played at Lichfield for £17.50 each with a voucher when the rate at the time was £20 each.
