2 and 3/4". Does it cost accuracy?

44 1/2 iirc from the book I quoted earlier. I'll double check it later when I get chance.

The same book would suggest marketing, along the lines of further than ever, which is pretty much the same argument for vanishing loft on irons and some been made longer as 'standard'.

Well the naysayers have said that the RBZ 3 wood only goes the extra 17 yards because of the 0.5" shaft length (compared to some others), so that means you'll struggle with about 60 yards less if you take off 2" from yours ;)

On a more serious note, this site gives a quite honest review of shaft length discussions.
