I got rid of the nerves with a nice tee shot on the first hit the green but 3 putted for a 4, a nice bogey on the second and I was away, threw a few shots away but finished the front nine in 51 whicch equated to 20 points. I was quite happy with that despite taking 5 fron just short of one greem with 2 duffed chips.
Started back nine poorlywould have only scored 5 points on the first 5 holes, I rallied over the final four holes and finished with a back nine score of 56 (15 points).
So a gross 107, net 73 against the SSS of 72. The weather was inclement, forever taking the jacket on and off and getting the brolley out and there was a lot of standing water.
My putting was iffy, every time I had 2 putts for a par I managed to 3 putt!
Alll in all pretty pleased, with the final score for my first comp, as I know I have a lot of easy shots I can get back. I dont know what the CSS will be but last week it was 75, so maybe a tiny cut. I might even be in with a cjhance of winning, considering the weather, although it is brighter and dryer this afternoon.
