Recently purchased a Cobra Fly Z driver and looking to find the best setting when using it

Previously played a Callaway X2Hot driver which I always had in 11.5 with the draw setting which I hit pretty straight the majority of the time

After trying the draw setting on the Fly Z but still found myself losing it to the right, not really a slice but straight right so wasn't losing to much distance.

I have now found the 12 degree setting seems to give me the straightest flight, only hit around 8 drives this afternoon so haven't had a chance to try it out properly yet.

Just wanted to see if anyone else currently plays their driver at 12 degree loft? Do you think this is more suited to someone with a slower swing speed?

My driver is set at 14 Degree and my swing isn't slow

But it's all down to each person - if putting the loft up to 12 is helping you out and give you better results then go for it

General consensus is that loft is your friend.
As long as yournball flight isn't too high there's a lot to bensaid for having as high a loft as possible on yuour driver.
And never forget the words " if it works, don't knock it"

in general more loft will help get a decent launch angle given reasonable impact conditions, you need height, as well as forwards momentum, to be able to get optimum carry distance
more loft will help a slower swing speed achieve this, plus will to some small extent mitigate curvature to rightfield/leftfield

all depends on the individual impact conditions, but a fitter would tend to look to put the most loft he could, given all the other criteria, in a slower swing speed delivery in order to optimize launch angle, peak height so carry distance along a reasonable landing angle

You are closing the face a touch when increasing the loft. this is probably helping you to square the face / not leave it open and lose the ball right.

What's the distance like compared to the X2 Hot?

I'm in the early throes of looking for a change!

Way you hit the ball Chris I'd look at the fly z +! The fly z is very forgiving but I hit the g30 a greater distance but the fly z was more forgiving in my eyes.

I was experimenting with loft, I have a 12 degree head and Arthur extreme silver as one of my project clubs. It gave it a really powerful but floaty shot, not much run.
But then I went and bought the Yonex which has regular shaft but some tip reinforcement. I was hitting it well at 10.5 degrees but inconsistent between rounds. I then experimented with a pink castle tee ... I am now at 9 degrees and open ... Don't ask it works I am not buying anything now, I like it when it goes where I aim.

I can't quite judge it yet as it's the winter tees that are on at the moment so hard to see if it's going as far as the x2hot.

It certainly feels a lot better and the shorter shaft seems more comfortable aswell.

Once I get it to the range I will get it set up properly.

I'd be interested in the results when they become available

I was fitted by TaylorMade for my 12 degree SLDR with a Black Tie 7m shaft which was slightly cut down and have always hit it well, now hitting it even better since a put a full length Black Tie 6m shaft in,

I'm in the early throes of looking for a change!

My 15 year old son was fitted for a Flyz by the AG tour van recently. He was looking at M1 and G30 but the Cobra distance was considerably further - their trackman had him hitting it 275 - 280 yds, whereas the G30 and M1 were maxing out around 230. He was fitted with 12 degree loft and a free upgrade to Aldila tour blue stiff shaft. Currently going for £149, ordered last week and waiting for delivery.

Must admit that I'm tempted to give one a go too, see how it goes against my G15.....
