I had a lesson today and asked for some pointers about my game from 100 yards in. From this distance I think I should be hitting the green more often than not - sadly I'm missing more often than not!
Anyway, it seems that if I make a swing with the club with the ball in the way my contact is good but quite often left and long. If I try to 'hit' the ball I sent it right and likely short.
So, the pro gave me a check over about alignment and ball position and made only very minor adjustments. He advised that I try generating pressure on myself in friendly rounds by expecting to hit the green and when missed take some form on penalty like dropping in a bunker.
Also when on the range work on a tighter dispersion with the shorter clubs.
So, what other drills do any of you use down at the range to hone the 100 yard in skills? Or do you practice this more on the course? All suggestions welcome - I'm prepared to give anything a try!
