Went away to Mauritius for our 25th wedding anniversary. Fortunate to play 6 rounds at Île aux Cerfs. Had been on my bucket list ever since I saw pictures of it when the course first opened some 19 odd years ago. We lucked out with weather for 5 days of the 6, had to battle with an anti-cyclone over the last two days, but it really was golf in paradise.

A good (and occasionally bad! ;)) friend comes from there. Goes back as often as she can and loves it. Sounds pretty much idyllic!
I'm puzzled about why an anticyclone (on its own) would have to be 'battled with' though. Normally produce settled, clear, weather - unless there's a Low pressure area nearby - which would cause winds and, maybe, rain.

Went there on my honeymoon and managed to squeeze a round in. It’s an amazing course, but it was very hard from the tips in the wind that day.

I never heard of an anticyclone before, that’s what the staff called it, maybe she meant cyclone? Either way, it was wind and rain, and a lot of both.

You definitely lucked in with the weather. Before and after your visit we've been deluged with the wet stuff. I played it the week before and we got absolutely drowned all afternoon, but the course does drain well

(we're just finishing cyclone season (summer) much more destructive winds with a range of safety measures when one gets close.
In winter we get anti-cyclones and never need to use the warning alerts)
