Driving, the bain of my life. My iron play is fairly solid but my driving is eratic with any wood (Driver or 3), with them ranging from a soft fade to a super slice. The net result is that I'm nearly always in trouble off the tee, and my confidence just drains away.
I had a lesson with our Pro...
And how I want to jack this all in!!
Been playing quite well recently, got my official handicap of 26, and have played in a couple of comps. Wanted to improve my driving, had a lesson and our pro who seemed to sort me out on the range. Happy days! Really looking forward to todays Sat Stableford...
Custom fitting certainly seems to be worth a pop, but where do you find the place to have it done? Do most Pros do it or is specialist equipment needed?
Can anyone recommend a place in or near N Devon to have it done?
I agree with Parmo. Yes, overly slow play can be frustrating, marking cards on the green etc etc discouraged, but I have enough stresses and strains in every day life to allow my enjoyment time to be rushed as well!!
A 3 ball 18 hole stableford comp usually takes about 4 hrs on our 6100 yd...
What is the difference between hitting a fairway wood and a utility club? Is there a difference in ball flight or distance?
I've never really gotten on with fairway woods (Adams RPM 3 wood, seem to top a lot), but my 3 and 4 iron utilities (Adams A2) are so sweet.
I know, "If it ain't broke...
Well played the Pro!
Told him of AG's price, and he offered to match that for cash, but could only offer another £30 to trade in the Pings (making £320 total). He also thanked me for allowing him to opportunity to do a deal, as that was better than no sale at all.
I didn't expect such a...
Thanks for all your comments. I've had a bit of a chat with him, as has a couple of his mates, and it looks like he will plump for the VM-1's. It would appear that they may be cool after all!!
On the subject of graphite vs steel, he consistantly hit the graphite shafted clubs better than the...
My 15 yr old son (quite a willowy build) has been saving up his wages for a new set of irons to replace his steel shafted Ping Eye II's. He plays off 20 at the moment, and hopes to make 15 by the end of the Summer.
We've just returned from a local Pro who had him hit a selection of clubs...
Just been looking for a new cart bag, and when asked for a recommend, the Pro pointed me in the direction of a Benross bag. He then put a Powakaddy one next to it and asked me to spot the difference (apart from the name!). When I couldn't see one, he pointed to the price tag and said "About...
And so off we went this morning, my son and I, to one of our local Pro shops, to try out the G5 and G10 drivers.
I took along my Adams RPM just to show him what I've been playing with so we could compare all three together. But after looking at my club and watching me hit both Pings, he left me...
At the mo I play with my trusty Adams RPM driver as my only wood, with Adams A2 3+4 hybrids (as long irons), then onto G10's 5-SW.
Would there be any advantage in having a 3 wood in my bag as well, or would it be replicating the performance of the 3 hybrid?
Or is it just me?!
I'm usually pretty consistant at about 150 yds with my 7 iron. However, I always use it on the 160 yd par 3 at my course, using the same swing, and it's plenty of club, even going through the back when the wind is behind!
Are irons longer off a tee peg?
