Just been looking for a new cart bag, and when asked for a recommend, the Pro pointed me in the direction of a Benross bag. He then put a Powakaddy one next to it and asked me to spot the difference (apart from the name!). When I couldn't see one, he pointed to the price tag and said "About £40!".

He said they were made by the same company and were identical apart from the price.

Who else makes the same equipment for different companies?

Not sure you right about Srixon but think they own Yes! putters.

TM and Adidas are owned by Salomon who are HUGE!!

FJ,Cobra and Titleist all one company.

Hogan I believe still make their own kit but Callaway make the Hogan balls.

Salmomon?

They bought a bunch of other brands at the same time too, could be totally wrong but thought Reebok was one of them.

Nico - change is confusing ain't it?
Amer Sports now own Salomon and Wilson
Adidas Group (who bought and sold Salomon)includes Adidas, Reebok (retained when sold Salomon) and Taylor Made
Ask again tomorrow!!

You will find I am easily confused!!

Knew a rep for TM (who has since been round Wilson, etc.etc) and he told me that Salomon were the buyers.

My head hurts!!

Adidas acquired Saloman, TalyorMade and Maxfli in 1997
Adidas sold Saloman to Amer Sports in 2005
Adidas bought Reebok in 2006

Titleist (inc Scotty Cameron), Cobra and Footjoy are Acushnet, which is in turn owned by Fortune Brands, which also owns Pinnacle, and more interestingly Laphroaig, The Dalmore, Ardmore, Teachers, Jim Beam, Courvoisier, Fundador, Gilbeys, Cockburns, Harveys and many more.

Callaway includes Odyssey, Ben Hogan and TopFlite

Dunlop, Slazenger and, strangely, Maxfli are all owned by Pacific Brands

I always thoguht the Adidas-Salomon group was a joint partnership affair where both individual parties helped form the 'adidas group' of companies, who in turn own Reebok, Adidas and Taylormade-Adidas golf.

Seems now that either Adidas have bought out Salomon's shares or visa versa (posts have been made to both effect!)
