I've recently upgraded and like things to match so, Callaway driver + wood + hybride + irons.
But kept my old putter ping zing as I love it and also bag is non callaway.
If he has been playing for awhile, the Decathlon set might not be enough clubs for him (not full set of irons). I had to upgrade after 3 months.
now have Callaway X HOT, mainly went for these as wanted senior shafts, but for value for money the Callaway Edge set is the way to go.
Some great ideas, thanks!
I've ordered the same brand 3 wood as it has the shorter shaft so swapping over might be an option.
I've also bought the full set of irons and loving those except for the sand wedge, but time will tell.
The old one is the Decathlon Inesis 100 in size 1. It was part of a set targeted to beginners and I found it quite easy to hit. The Callaway is standard off the shelf. Yes I too was surprised at the difference.
So I got my new driver last week and find that it is 3" longer than my old driver. What are the pros and cons of getting the new shaft shortened? or should I give it time to get used to the new driver.
I don't think my swing is good enough to have a fitting. Last year I moved from steel to grahite shafts and found it much better on the hands, less pain.
As I'm 57 now with a slow swing, I just assumed senior flex was the way to go.
Just picked up a X Hot hybride 4, was on offer at 99€
Should get it monday / tuesday, if i get on with it will order the irons as well
Should I be looking into getting a 5 wood as well?
Hello, looking to buy a new set of irons + hybride. Seen a deal for the Callaway X Hot irons but see that they were first released on 2012. Should I look for something more recent, maybe the Callaway Rogue?
Mentally feeling crap today and that was reflected in my golf lesson. Didn't manage to hit one ball out of a bucket of 50.
I apologized to the PRO and said hopefully tomorrow will be better.
This is excellent, thank you for taking the time to research this.
I like the fact that these are Callaway clubs, I used to play and still have Big Bertha Driver, 3 and 5 wood from 1997. The PRO told me off for wanting to sell them, he said they are classics and I should keep them. So no longer...
