We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!
Some 18 months after picking some clubs up for the first time I've finally broke 100, well, I haven't, I broke 50 for 9 holes, but you know what I mean.
Leaving that misbehaving driver in the bag mostly certainly helped as OOB is the biggest issue for me but the putting was pretty good for me...
I was really struggling with tempo early this year. Coach had me hitting 50 yard pitches for hours, then he'd let me go up to 60 yards and so on. I now got tempo back under control and never feel like I'm trying to welly it anymore. Practice swing consists of a 1/4 to 1/2 swing to feel the...
you can check for planning applications on line at the planning portal. Every authority has one and all you need is the address. I think I'll bow out of this conversation though as I work for developers currently negotiaing planning consent on a golf course
Played Redwoods track last week and noticed the footpaths crossing the site - fine, it's a public right of way - but was a bit taken aback by the couple of people walking dogs far from the paths down in the pretty corner (9th to 10th?) looking angrily at you as you raise an eyebrow. Nice track...
In all my years in construction I've never known a brickie do an 8 hour day! Made of sugar!
I hit the gym - not specifically for golf but have an eye on it - always wary of becoming too bulky and impeding the swing - lots of core and back work - they can't be strong enough in my...
So...I see there is a fitting centre in Exeter where I spend my working week (at the range I occasionly visit after work - I know they do haircuts - didn't know they custom fit) Anyone have any experience of Clifton Hill?
Is that kettle still on?
so all this talk of putters has had me itching to get out and find the right one for me.
Spent some time down at AG and was rattling them in with a Yes Callie - tried Tracy too but she doesn't like me, she's always (going) right.
So - given that the current beast is performing, but I have no...
Hello! I'm in a similar camp - wish I'd started before last year just before I turned 32. A nomad myself but troubling the muni regularly (but only 9 holes at a time) I've taken 13 shots off my first card in the last couple of months so it's never too late to make a start.
Bayhill Mallet that was in my start up kit. I really don't feel comfortable with it, just feels all wrong and I want to change. Problem is, it's working quite nicely for me at the moment - didn't have a single 3 putt yesterday when I played 9 and only 3 putted once the last time I went out and...
I don't particularly like it but....
Can't understand why people baulk at paying that much for a putter - but will splash out similar amounts on a driver - a club which won't be used anywhere near as much?
I wouldn't pay that much for either - but then I'm a tight git.
Top advice. I suffer from them from time to time too. Knowing the triggers helps identify the symptoms earlier and pre-empt with Migralive. For me it's flickering fluorescent tubes (Bloody great when you work in an office plastered with them) and strong sunlight. First thing to go for me is...
