    Memberships in Hampshire / Surrey

We've just bought in Bentley (between Farnham and Alton). I've played with a friend at Worldham a couple of times and a decent, interesting course - probably a bit far for you though. I'm waiting on seeing if/when Blacknest opens up again (should be Autumn '25), hopefully no waitlist and fees...

    Course recommendations in Stoke

I don't live in the area any longer, have played Westwood and Leek and both were very enjoyable and interesting. I've had my eye on playing both Trentham and Trentham Park recently, Barlaston looks decent too. I think Greenway Hall (Stockton Brook) has Toptracer range

Has a new Putter made a big difference?

I never got the fuss about Scotty Cameron - until I used one. Used to always have mallet putters, even a personalised TM Spider. Gave a cheap Scotty a go from GolfClubs4Cash with additional eBay offer for £150 and I have never looked at another putter. Even my playing partners have commented on...

    Extortionate green fees!

Another good alternative is to look at GolfParis, NCG etc etc. I played their Fife 4-day in May for £299 - Dumbarnie, Leven Links, Ladybank, Scotscraig. Some really really great courses and yes this was a super early-bird offer but there are ways and means if you're desperate to play certain...

    New membership options Addington palace

I haven't played Addington Palace but my former coach from Pitch is now head-pro and he is fantastic, I believe he's installed a golf simulator and completely redone the pro-shop. I would thoroughly recommend him as a pro, cannot comment on the course unfortunately.

How much is it if you turn up and join the queue at 4am?

Is there clubhouse in the country not showing the Ryder Cup...

We had it on yesterday and did a Sunday roast - clubhouse was full, anyone not booked for the lunch had to sit outside. Fortunately there was a TV outside too

    Mizuno golf pairs events

I've played in a good few of their Singles events and I don't have any complaints. I nearly always book early or when there's a discount on. I'm playing 4 days in Fife next year (Dunbarnie, Leven, Scotscraig and Ladybank) for £249 - so quite the saving. Don't have any Singles in the calendar...

    Tag Heuer Connected

I bought one last summer after using a Garmin Fenix 6 and wanted to get an actual Golf Watch. I was very disappointed and ended up sending it back. The GPS was slow (both watch GPS and connected to the phone) and sometimes wouldn't update at all - i'd be walking down the fairway and the...

    Annual Subscription Payment.

My club offer to pay in full, two payments or monthly, though you pay about £50 more for the monthly payment option. All done through the club and standing orders.

    3 club competition

We had ours recently - it was very mixed from the field. i took 3w (off the tee and long fairway), 7i for anything 3w was too long for, Approach Wedge (49deg) and putter. It was either going to go amazing or terribly - it was the latter but good fun.

    winter balls

Had this chat with my coach last week. He suggested a harder ball for Winter. I usually play Titleist Velocity or TP5, he said I should stick to Velocity's for winter - shot one of my best rounds last week so must be working.

Dress Code - Most Unusual Inclusions/Exclusions

I don't think LSGC hire the Polo's anymore - i think you have to buy one (probably for this reason). I remember when Erik Anders Lang came to play and video for Skratch e he bought one (though if you watch the video it looks like the club gave it to him). WCGC definitely hire out waterproofs...

Dress Code - Most Unusual Inclusions/Exclusions

"It is a local rule that all golfers on Wimbledon Common must wear plain pillar-box red coloured tops, to make them more visible to other users of this public land. We can provide these for sale, or for hire..." I don't know of any other clubs that have a Local rule regarding the colour of...
