    Info golf trip in Aberdeenshire

It would be a crime not to play Peterhead if your in the area, we got a new head greenkeeper a few years ago and he has transformed the course, it is getting a lot of praise from members and visitors. You won't be disappointed.

How to Cope in a World Without Tiger

All this talk of how we will cope without Tiger is a tad premature. Last year he won 5 events and ascended to the top of the rankings again, the only thing he didn't do was win a major and everyone rights him off. I look forward to his return to health and many duels with Rory in the coming...

Which is more fun? Fitting or eBay?

Ebay for me too :D - Got a bag full of second hand bargains. Definitely, had more success with ebay than getting fitted. The big advantage for ebay is that you can try the club/shaft etc for several week/month before deciding if it is right for you, if not back on ebay and all you are out of...

    Golf in Turkey

Can recommend Bilyana Golf for accomodation/transportation/tee times etc great service. Can also recommend the voyage hotel - superb value, but dont think you can go wrong with any of them. This year we are in the Cornelia which also looks amazing. As for the golf there is a real mix to pick...

Do you ever buy clubs without trying them?

Yep, had more success with blind buying than custom fitting. I'm a bit of a tinkerer and love trying new kit, probably bought and sold a dozen or so items over the last couple of years. Can't beat ebay for trying someone else's cast off's, all for the price of postage. A recent example is...

    Scotty Cameron bashing

Another Scotty lover here. However, it's on the naughty step at the moment after being outperformed by a £30 ebay odyssey No7. It better buck up soon or it's for the high jump.

Why do people get 'fitted' for clubs?

Whats been proven? As far a i know the average handicap has been pretty static for years, despite all manner of people getting uber excited about the latest custom fit or club technology.

Why do people get 'fitted' for clubs?

Do you really want to get into the differences between a pro and a club golfer?

Why do people get 'fitted' for clubs?

Yep .... OVERRATED. I can name a couple of dozen Cat1and Scratch players at my club who have never been custom fitted. Gosh!, Some have even been Cat1 for 20 years or more. Well before the first mention of 'Custom fitting' from the manufacturers I'm guessing they got there with plenty practice...

Why do people get 'fitted' for clubs?

Custom fitting is the most overrated aid to becoming a better golfer. The club manufacturers and sellers have done a great job in convicing us otherwise tho.

    Titliest 910 Hybrid.

Stiff shaft in mine. I'm borderline stiff/regular so can get away with both. I have both the 910 D2 and D3 in stiff shaft, but tend to use regular for my irons. Love my 910 driver:thup: Don't get me wrong the 910H is a great club, but i'm not hitting as many greens as i am with the G25. I...

    Titliest 910 Hybrid.

Iv'e got the 19deg and it is destined for ebay. Used it most of last season. Find it a tad inconsistent and unforgiving for my liking. Its a nice club, looks great at address and looks cool in the bag. But you need a very good and repeatable swing to get the most out of it. Its the off centre...
